There is something in the folk music which touched the heart unlike any other form and it need not be in a language that you understand. Music has no language they say but aboriginal songs are much more beautiful if we understand or are able to connect to the words as well.
Am not a strong believer in fusion music or remix but when it brings out artists and exposes the talent to the world I need to take a bow and I have done it over and over again for Coke Studio Pakistan. You can always make money when you make music but too much commercialization and what you end up with is the Coke Studio India. Anyways I am not an expert with all these things (BTW am I an expert with anything on second thoughts) and I will leave them here only.
I wanted to share a soulful Rajsthani folk tune with my readers and archive it for myself as well. Before I present the link let us go through he lyrics.
Thanks to the link http://folkrajasthan.com/asif-hussain-samraat/senraan-ra-baairya/ - I have saved the effort to type the devanagari and roman script. The translations are also from the website.
The video is from Coke studio by Asif Samraat and Zoe Viccaji.
